Location
Located directly across the road from the shore of lake Te Anau. On the corner of Lake Front Drive and Mokoroa Street, the hotel is a 2 hour drive (175 kilometres) from Queenstown and 160 kilometres to Milford Sound. Te Anau is the gateway to New Zealand's Fiordland and starting point for the Milford Track, one of the finest walks in the world.

Room description
Lakeview rooms offer attractive views of Lake Te Anau, the South Island's largest lake. Guest rooms are spacious and are well appointed and come equipped with colour television, mini bar and tea/coffee makers. Both rooms and bathrooms are in good condition.

This is a great place to stay for those looking to explore the rugged wilderness of the Fiordlands area. The staff of the hotel have long experience in assisting guests on the numerous activities that are available in the area. The hotel is very popular with tour groups and individuals. SE0307

Location
The Luxmore is located in the centre of town and within a short walk of all the shops, restaurants and amenities. Te Anau is the gateway to the "Fiordland" and so is a great place to stay and explore the famous world heritage sites of Milford Sound, Doutbful Sound and the Fiordland national park.

Room description
The standard rooms are either Queen bed or double and single bed, with shower but no bathtub. Facilities include Fridge, TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities.

The lobby has been rebuilt in 2006 providing a much larger area with attractive and comfortable seating.

Hotel restaurant
Hilights is the main restaurant serving breakfast and dinner with great views to the nearby mountain ranges it has a seating capacity of 160 guests. Bailiez cafe and bar is located on ground floor with a street access as well as internal access. It is more informal and serve light meals and drinks.

The Kingsgate hotel is of a good budget traveller category. Rooms are comfortable rather than luxurious. The great attraction of Te anau is its proximity to some of the best hiking in the world, within a world Heritage status national park which includes both Milford sound and Doubtful sound. Located on the lake edge, approximately 350 metres from the centre of town. Te Anau is the closest accommodation centre to Milford sound (2 hours drive). From Queenstown it is a 2 and a half hour drive and from Dunedin its approximately 4 hours.

Room description
The rooms are of a reasonable size with many rooms refurbished in 2006. The standard room has a queen and single bed. rooms have cable TV, tea/coffee facilities and refrigerator.

The Bluestone restaurant and bar is a relaxed standard hotel restaurant. It takes advantage of some excellent local produce.

Location
The hotel is located 5 minutes walk from the lake Te Anau shore and the town centre, it is also adjacent to the local park. Te Anau is approximately 2.5 hours drive from Queenstown and 2 hours drive from Milford Sound.

Room description
The 55 rooms of the hotel face on to a courtyard. The exterior of the rooms are decorated as shop fronts of the "village". Inside they are a reasonable size decorated ina simple style they are generally in a good condition. Rooms include , tea and coffee making facilities, mini-bar, TV and in-house video. Many of the rooms have bathtub and shower.

Hotel restaurant
The restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner and can seat 74 people. It uses local produce where possible including Venison, Salmon and Crayfish. Decorated in a country style, this is an informal dining experience.
